A Beautiful Purpose

He has made everything beautiful and appropriate in its time. He has also planted eternity [a sense of divine purpose] in the human heart [a mysterious longing which nothing under the sun can satisfy, except God]—yet man cannot find out (comprehend, grasp) what God has done (His overall plan) from the beginning to the end.
Ecclesiastes 3:11 AMP

On new year’s eve, I was just scrolling through my Facebook posts and saw that some of my friends had been using an app to give them a scripture for the new year. (You know, the kind of app that does personality profiling and show you what you will look like aged 90. That kind of app.)

For some reason it just wouldn’t give me my scripture! Every time I clicked on it, it would download to about 95% before cutting out. I clicked, and clicked and clicked some more! I started feeling very frustrated: What is MY scripture for 2020?!

I heard the gentle voice of the Spirit saying, do you want to have a scripture for the new year? Just ask me. Ha! Why do we seem to go everywhere else except to the Source of our entire existence? Why do I want a Word from an app when I have the Word, Himself?

As soon as I logged out of Facebook, my Bible app pinged with the Word for the day. It was Ecclesiastes 3:11. God’s special Word to me this year: He has made me beautiful and set me in this place and time, for a divine purpose.

If I am honest, I struggled with receiving this particular scripture. Embracing the words “beauty” and “purpose” seem to be reserved for a select view. However, I know that my understanding of these terms, are limiting my experiences in life.

So today and every day, I choose to embrace the Word God speaks over me: a beautiful purpose. And I pray that you too, will know and discover the divine plans of God for your life. Just ask Him!

Isn’t it amazing to realise that we are an intricate part of establishing God’s plans on the Earth? And it is only Him that can reveal it to us. No app, no person, no gimmick. Only Him.

Today I declare that God calls me beautiful. That He has put a divine purpose in my heart. As I stay close to Him, He will reveal His plans for me and lead me step by step.

Today, I hear God say: “Beautiful Child, turn off the distractions and hear what I have to say about you. Come find out my dreams and plans for your life. Get ready for a great adventure as you discover the divine purpose I have placed in your heart. You are significant.” ❤
