“Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out; you formed me in my mother’s womb. I thank you, High God—you’re breathtaking! Body and soul, I am marvelously made! I worship in adoration—what a creation! You know me inside and out, you know every bone in my body; You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something. Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth; all the stages of my life were spread out before you, The days of my life all prepared before I’d even lived one day.”
Psalm 139:13-16 MSG
You are not here by accident.
Sometimes the world can feel a little random and out of control. But there is nothing random about you. You were planned, carefully designed and placed in a certain area and time, so that you could fulfill a purpose.
“…first inside, then out…”
God is still working in you to bring about His purpose for your life. He wants to see you do everything He has planned for you, but just like you were formed and fashioned in your mother’s womb, the work has to be done inside first, before it will be seen on the outside.
Surrendering your heart, your life and plans to the Lord, will allow Him to create according to His design and plans. He won’t force the work. We have to invite Him.
“…from nothing to something…”
I have often felt like a whole lump of nothing. That is not always a bad thing. God can work with a lump of nothing, and when He puts that lump on His potter’s wheel, the result is something functional. Something that is useful. Something that is beautiful. Something that has purpose.
God is making something out of you. He is making something out of me. If we ask Him, He will start to show us His design and we can let go of who and what we think we have to be. We can rest as we allow Him to shape us into who and what we were always destined to be.
“…from conception to birth…”
Yes, you were born in the flesh, then born in the spirit, but God still wants to birth His plans through you. First, we have to conceive it. We have to start seeing what He has for us, in our imagination. We need to align our minds, our hearts and our words with His design.
It is a process. It takes time. I have learned that it takes less time if I don’t interfere with the work but just surrender and align myself with it. If I want to see God’s plan for my life come into being, I cannot get frustrated and give up. I have to keep trusting. He is doing a wonderful, marvellous work.
Today I decree that God is at work in me. He is making something from nothing. I surrender to His plans and designs for my life. I will not give up, but allow Him to do what He needs to do. I am marvelously made!
Today, I hear Him whisper: “Marvellous Child, my plans are to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you a future and a hope. You can rest knowing that I am bringing something beautiful, functional and purposeful out of your heart. You were placed here and now, because you have a destiny to fulfil. But you do not need to do it in your own wisdom and strength. I will do the work, if you allow me. Open up your heart and invite me to show you the way forward. You are altogether beautiful, my Love.” ❤
